1985 Pearson 36-2  Centerboard Sloop

Shearwater I has a proud new owner, George Goodloe. Although we are a little sad to give her up we are pleased her new owner  an experienced sailor will take loving care of her.

George and his wife Kitty will live onboard while they refurbish a home in the Bahamas.   We wish them fair winds and good sailing.

She is 54' tall, 36' long, draws 4' with her centerboard up and has a 12' 4" beam.  Her appearance and systems have been carefully upgraded to retain a nearly like-new appearance.  Equipment includes a Yanmar 3HM35F with 30 HP and 3200 hours - 100 hours since new pumps, gaskets and brushes were installed.

The engine compartment is newly sound conditioned and freshly painted.  The three bladed prop moves her at six knots - and there is a spare 2 bladed prop if you prefer.

The fully battened main is a Sobstad 8.8 oz with 4 reef points.  She carries a 135 jib in a hood roller furling, a 100 jib, and a 72 sq. ft. storm jib with its own mast halyard and deck attachment.  A dodger, bimini, screens, and cockpit cushions complete the deck.  The toe rail has been custom rebuilt with an aluminum extrusion to prevent damage when docking and provide strong points for two snatch blocks.
