About Us

Summer 2001

It took us a few weeks to unwind from our adventure across the Atlantic and through the Caribbean. Stu started treatment for his pinched nerve and we began to catch up with the myriad of task we put aside until we "Got Home".

Once it was clear that Stu was going to get relief from his pain, it didn't take us very long to decide to put our house on the market. Stu was sure before we left for Africa  but it took me longer to let go. It's not possible to keep a home like ours and travel the way we would like to do.

We decided to plan a trip to see Stu's grandson, Justin, who turned two in June.dvc00018.jpg (139075 bytes)  He was only 8 months old when we saw him last. Shirley, Stu's daughter, and husband TJ moved back to Houston last winter. Josh, Stu's son lives not far away in Austin. And, to round things out, Stu's brother Len and his son Adam also live in Houston.

On July 31 we started our return trip.  Our friend Janet Lachman made the trip with us as far as Tampa. We had a great trip dodging Barry. Along the way we found Ed and Marian Herndon on Remedy. The trip across the gulf and down and around the coast of Florida was peaceful and lovely. Hugh, Kathy and Brian Hindman met us in Captiva We are headed home to make the house ready for her new owners and to plan and prepare for further adventures in the fall.

Take a look at  Westward Route and Eastward Route.
