Sail Your Dream

Alex Samonis designed the nearly ideal cruising catamaran when he produced the Voyage 430.  Twice named cruising boat of the year and part of Samonis' eight boat of the year awards for his work on Voyage, Leopard and Moorings.  The Voyage 430 is a fine live aboard and cruising yacht.  We have the owner's version with 3 queen size cabins. Time Share the Shearwater

You and your family can enjoy vacation months on board without the outlay and bother of ownership.  Time Share months are available at $7,500/month with a minimum commitment of 2 months per year for 2 years.  I'll sail an initial 2 week cruise ($3,500 plus expenses), help you learn the Shearwater and qualify you for insurance.

During your scheduled month(s), you are responsible for fuel, ordinary maintenance (check the oil before starting), dockage (if you want to dock), and cleanup after the month.  In the unlikely event of an accident, you are responsible for the deductible (3%) and any time she is out of service.  I maintain Tow Boat, US towing and normal damage/salvage insurance.

Currently, the Shearwater II is South Florida near the Florida Keys and Bahamas cruising areas.  Depending on your "vote" and the votes of other time share sailors, we can move her to the Cape Cod cruising area for the summer - or even to the Med if enough months want to sail the land where sailing began.

I'll help deliver her to the port of your choice, help you learn the systems, serve as crew on part of your first cruise (if you wish), and make available my teaching and engineering experience as you grow to learn the Shearwater II and her systems.  First week of my time is included - additional weeks available.

Be Creative

These offers are examples of how the Shearwater II can give you the joy of sailing she has given us for the past five years.  Our circumstances have changed and we want more time in South Florida to watch the grandchildren grow.  Your circumstances may - or may not - be ready for a full time cruising life - together we can still visit the exotic ports, enjoy the sea, and have a wonderful and capable yacht.

I'm open to ideas and look forward to your creative input on how to best share our joy of sailing.
