On Saturday Morning October 26 under cool, cloudy and rainy skies Shearwater departed Annapolis for our trip South . We had a lovely spring and fall in the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. It was beginning to feel like winter and it was time to be gone. Wind Runner, Gary Smith's boat was in Portsmouth, VA where we rendezvoused for our trip through the Dismal Swamp and the Intercoastal to Beaufort, North Carolina.

We need to say thank you to several people who worked with us before leaving Annapolis: Tim Pugh from Intercoastal Financial who worked with us on saving some money on our Boat Mortgage, Chris Ford from Yacht Canvas and his assistant Leslie who built us a great new enclosure for our Bimini, Dave Flynn from Quantum Sails who helped us get our Sail Bag repaired and Dr. Tracey Mock our neighbor who came aboard to give Domino and Jez their annual check up and shots. Really, a Vet who makes boat calls.
