2021 A Year of Travel During Covid

2021 was a Challenging Year.

2021 01/13: In January, we traveled to Port St. Lucie with Winnie, our travel trailer, for our first Pfizer dose, with the second to follow in February.

We felt free to resume limited travel safely. On July 24th, we had our third shot, hopefully further protecting us against even a mild dose of COVID,

2021 05/20-23: Fully vaccinated, masked, and sanitized, we headed South for our first adventure to C. B. Smith Park near Miami. We had a lovely weekend, enjoying the birds, scenery and a special treat.  Click here to listen to the birds and enjoy the weekend.

2021 Summer Road Trip: On our Summer Trip this year we ventured to Washington DC for the reopening of the Smithsonian. Joan flew home and Stu drove to Austin, and then to Philadelphia to meet Joan’s second flight of the summer. We continued on to New Jersey, New York, and North and South Carolina. 2021 8/31-9/3:  The Larry and Penny Thompson Memorial Campground south of Miami hosted us for a mid-week short vacation. This was initially planned to test the two new Axles fitted to Winnie after one of her wheels rolled past us at a  Walmart in New Jersey. Turned out to be one of our many special trips. The high point was dinner with David and Jan Ichel in their lovely home overlooking the Atlantic. Join us by clicking here as we visit the park, Jan and David, Key Biscayne, and the Miami Zoo.

2021 9/25-9/27: We enjoyed a weekend in the Keys at the Curry Hammock State Park.   Share some of the enjoyment by clicking here.

2021 9/30 to 12/3 Autumn Road Trip: Stu traveled to Austin for a month alongside Lake Buchanan near his family. Then Joan flew to Austin to join him for travel in Texas Hill Country to enjoy the fall foliage, and visits to San Antonio, Houston, Baton Rouge, and several other cities on the way home.
